You're the man - now act like it!
December 7th 2007 07:14
I’ll tell you one thing Australian women don’t want – and that’s a man who behaves like a wimp around her. Even in this day and age, women want a strong, stable man whom they can respect and depend upon. If you act like a wuss, she will eventually lose interest because she’s instinctively wired to respond to strength in men, as she (in most cases) viewed her father as a strong man – and research shows that women tend to be attracted to men similar to their fathers. Bizarre, I know, but that’s for another blog.
When it comes to women, it can be difficult to prove exactly how ‘strong’ you are in general social situations, but if you behave in a manner that is composed and relaxed, responding well to your surroundings, she will subtly pick up on your manly vibes. If you behave in a restless or fidgety manner, she will probably be unnerved and will feel uncertain around you (and women pick up on these signals almost instantly). You need to project an image of manliness at all times, as silly as that sounds. You need to remind her of her father, not, say, her best girlfriend.
Essentially, you need to remember that women want a man, not a boy. If you’re the mama’s boy type, I’d say you need to cut that shit out right now as it doesn’t bode well for you. You need to be her strength – the rock to her river – she needs to feel as though she can rely on you for anything, whether that be changing her car’s oil or being beside her after the death of a family member. She doesn’t want to feel as though she needs to look after you. You need to be the man.
Being the man isn’t all that hard, really. After all, you are one (presumably). If you want to snag that little hottie you’ve got your eye on, it’s time to step up and get going. After all, she’s not going to be single forever. You’re the man – now’s the time show her what you're made of.

I can't speak for Australian Chick, but being masculine and being sensitive are not mutually exclusive.
Also, being masculine does not mean being a wife beater - it actually means the opposite. This is the problem: A lot of men (and women) seem to equate masculinity with abusiveness, and that couldn't be further from the truth.
Being masculine means protecting a woman and caring for her, not beating her or exhibiting "power" over her - that comes from not a man, but a coward who thinks that's what he has to do to feel like a man,
Just wanted to clarify how I define masculinity. And yes, I think a sensitive man is sexy!
