What intimidates women?

You may think that Aussie chicks have nothing to worry about when it comes to dealing with guys these days, but think again – many, on a deep level, are intimidated by certain types of men. Whether it’s a natural instinct or a learned one (i.e. a from a bad experience or relationship), if you remind her of something she needs to fear, then you’ll have to work extra hard to gain her trust in the early stages of interacting with her.
So what types of men are the most intimidating to women? If you’re built like a brick wall and are considerably taller than her, then her natural self-protective instincts will kick in and she’ll be on her guard around you until she knows you better. Unless her father was also a heavily-built man (see “You remind me of my Dad”) she will likely feel intimidated by your very presence. I don’t mean she’ll be scared of you, merely cautious around you until you can prove to her, on a gut level, that she has nothing to worry about when it comes to being with you.
So-called ‘love experts’ estimate that around 90% of communication is non-verbal, so if your body language is closed, then you’re likely sending out a message to her that you’re not to be spoken to at this time. If you stand there with your arms folded and a bored or pissed off expression on your face, women will be intimidated enough by this signal to stay away – and that’s before you’ve even said anything! Most girls are amazingly astute at picking up nonverbal cues, so you need to keep in mind what your body is saying to her. Keeping your body language ‘open’ and friendly, arms and legs uncrossed, with a relaxed posture, you’ll go a long way in making her feel more relaxed in your presence.
Aside from build and body language, there may be other factors in your life that will intimidate women – sometimes tattoos will do it, or maybe you’re in a profession she feels puts you out of her league – but each one will be on a case-by-case basis, as every woman is different. Just be aware that if she’s staying away, it could have something to do with your size or body language. There’s nothing you can do about being a big guy than let her know (nonverbally of course!) that you’re protective and safe, and not a threat to her. Keep your body language open and be relaxed and friendly in your dealings with her, and soon she will trust you enough to be relaxed and unintimidated in your presence. Best of luck to you.
