Old habits die hard

What bad habits do you have? Nearly everyone has a vice (or so they say), and some are definitely worse than others when it comes to affecting your relationships with women. Here are the top three bad habits that could be pushing her away from you:
1) Smoking. Now this may seem obvious to anyone who doesn’t smoke, but smoking is a deal-breaker when it comes to relationships: many Aussie women just wouldn’t date a guy who smokes. Assuming that she doesn’t smoke herself, she won’t want to deal with the smell and the health risks associated with passive smoking. It’s not 1989 anymore, you can’t simply light up whenever and wherever you please. Smoking has become a form of social leprosy (believe me, I know – I’m an ashamed smoker myself) and besides killing your chances for a great relationship, it’s also killing you. Quit now and you’ll be a step ahead of me.
2) Talking about your ex. When you get to know the girl you’re interested in a bit better, then and only then can you discuss past relationships. Never, under any circumstances, begin discussing your ex-girlfriends on a date. Your new girl will feel uncomfortable and as though she’s being compared to your past girlfriends. Also, it shows signs of excess baggage, something you definitely want to avoid.
3) Getting drunk on dates. Now, a glass of wine or a couple of beers will relax you, but having several will turn you into a slobbering mess in no time. If your new girl is the slightest bit insecure, she may feel like you have to get drunk in order to be able to enjoy her presence. If she’s not insecure, she’ll just think you’re an idiot, or worse, an alcoholic. Go easy on the drinks when you’re around her and save the heavy drinking for boys’ nights.
There are many more bad habits that can turn women off you, including things like cracking your knuckles, farting in front of her, spitting on the ground and so on… yes, a guy actually did this in front of me once… but they will vary from woman to woman. As long as you respect her sensibilities and avoid these top three habits, you will (for the most part) be fine. Old habits die hard, but they die for a reason – the reason being finding the person you want to be with and not turning her off with your behaviour. Best of luck in your endeavours!
